10. The Ministry of Ecology and Environment released the results of the national air quality forecast conference in the second half of May
On May 16, 2022, China National Environmental Monitoring Station, together with the National Meteorological Observatory, the National Joint Center for Air Pollution Prevention and Control, the Air Quality Prediction and Forecast Center of Northeast, South China, Southwest, Northwest and Yangtze River Delta regions, and The Beijing Ecological Environment Monitoring Center, held a national consultation on air quality forecast in the second half of May (16-31). In the second half of May, the diffusion conditions were good in most parts of the country. The air quality was good in the early stage, and the air quality was mainly good to mild pollution in the later stage. Some areas may have moderate or above pollution process. Under the influence of temperature rise, moderate ozone pollution may occur in central and southern North China, central and northern East China and southeast Northeast China. Under the influence of dust weather, the northwest region may have mild POLLUTION of PM10, local areas may reach moderate or above pollution.

The Ministry of Ecology and Environment on Thursday briefed the media on China's ambient air quality in April and January-April 2022. In April, 89.0 percent of the 339 cities at prefecture-level and above had good air quality, down 3.5 percentage points year on year. The average concentration of PM2.5 was 28 micrograms per cubic meter, flat year-on-year. The average concentration of PM10 was 56 μ g/m3, up 3.7% year on year. From January to April, the proportion of days with good air quality in 339 cities at prefecture level and above was 85.1%, up 1.3 percentage points year on year. The average concentration of PM2.5 was 39 micrograms per cubic meter, down 4.9 percent year on year. The average concentration of PM10 was 63 micrograms per cubic meter, down 8.7% year on year.
